GSSCC Owners & Entrepreneurs Circle Leadership Reflects on Inaugural Entrepreneurship Event October 23, 2023
On October 12, the Owners and Entrepreneurs Circle (OEC) proudly hosted its inaugural event, “Silver Spring Entrepreneurship Stories: Conversations with Local Business Founders”, at Montgomery College’s Cultural Arts Center. Our goal was to illustrate the power of shared experiences among entrepreneurs, emphasizing how learning from one another is fundamental to our growth as business owners.
At its heart, the OEC is a peer-to-peer community that enables local business owners to learn from each other at our monthly small-group discussions. Our panelists, all active in OEC, willingly brought that feeling of participating in OEC to the stage, openly sharing the successes and failures that we’ve all experienced on the road to business growth. The audience of business owners truly appreciated the panel’s candor, humor, and camaraderie! The whole experience reflected the benefit of belonging to the OEC and creating strong peer relationships that allow our local business community to flourish.
The evening opened with networking among attendees and panelists, bringing together a nice mix of owners from Silver Spring and beyond. Over the delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by one of our major sponsors, Montgomery College, new connections were made among a vibrant group of business owners from every industry.
In the second segment of the event, attendees gathered to hear the panel tell their stories. Each panelist described their own entrepreneurial journey, followed by a moderated discussion. We touched on topics ranging from work/life balance to learning from our failures. Thank you to our incredible panelists and moderator for creating such a dynamic discussion.
