Stephanie Helsing
President & CEO [email protected] As President & CEO of the Chamber, Stephanie Helsing provides vision and strategic direction for the organization, manages its operations, and serves business member needs, every day. Having served previously as the organization’s director of membership development from 2013 - 2019, Stephanie brings a wealth of experience to Silver Spring and the Chamber. Most recently, she served as senior manager of membership for the Public Affairs Council, where she grew the organization’s U.S. membership, oversaw the development and implementation of new member services, and supported the expansion of membership in the organization’s Brussels office. Being a 26-year resident of the Indian Spring community in Silver Spring and seeing three children successfully graduate from Montgomery Blair High School, along with her work in the community prior to the Chamber, including MCPS Northwood Cluster Co-coordinator responsible for Operations Budget testimony, multiple years spent as both PTA and PTSA President and Social Committee Chair for the Indian Spring Community Association, as well as being a Certified Assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troop 440, has given Stephanie a wide network of connections that easily supports her leadership role in the Chamber. Stephanie received her BSSP Summa Cum Laude, as well as a Certificate in Secondary Education, from Emerson College in Boston and her Masters Summa Cum Laude, in Political Science, with an International Relations focus, from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in Cairo, Egypt where she spent 4 years attending University; working for the AUC Desert Development Center and the Arab Office for Youth and Environment, as well as extensively traveling the region. When Stephanie is not doing her utmost to help GSSCC business members achieve their full potential, her competitive nature steers her to various running and hiking challenges that she enjoys with her boyfriend David and a group of highly competitive friends. She likes to travel, go thrifting and antiquing, attend the theatre, read, spend time in her garden and loves the beach. At some point during the pandemic, she became the proud co-parent of an adopted mix breed puppy (Beagle- Pitbull) named Remus Augustus, who accompanies them on many of their adventures. |

Daniel Oliver
Vice President of Member Relations [email protected] As Vice President of Member Relations, Daniel leads the Chamber’s membership strategy, with a focus on recruitment, retention, engagement, and long-term relationship management across the greater Silver Spring business community. His work centers on strengthening member value, supporting business growth, and ensuring that Chamber membership remains relevant, responsive, and impactful. Prior to joining the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, Daniel spent more than five years as Chief Operating Officer of the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, where he helped guide national operations, resource development, and long-term organizational growth. Before that, he spent the better part of a decade on Capitol Hill as a senior staff member for a Member of Congress on the House Appropriations Committee, gaining extensive experience in public policy, constituent services, and stakeholder engagement. Daniel brings a relationship-driven approach to his work, partnering closely with business owners, nonprofit leaders, and community stakeholders to understand their needs and connect them with the resources, visibility, and networks that matter most. He plays a key role in onboarding new members, strengthening member relationships, and supporting Chamber initiatives that advance local economic vitality. Originally from California, Daniel has called the DMV home since 2008 and is deeply rooted in the Silver Spring community. He is a co-founder and board chair of The Springwell School, a nonprofit organization, where he supports organizational governance and long-term planning in a mission-driven environment. When Daniel is not working with Chamber members, he is spending time with his three beautiful children, tackling home improvement projects, and staying actively engaged in the local community. He values practical problem-solving, clear communication, and building durable relationships that serve both businesses and the broader Silver Spring area. |

Julie Pawlikowski
Marketing, Communications, and Events Manager [email protected] Julie Pawlikowski is responsible for executing effective marketing strategies, cohesive branding and communication, and engaging networking events. Julie holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master’s degree in media management, both from Duquesne University (Pennsylvania). Julie says she joined the Chamber team “to help tell our member's stories and bring awareness to the positive impacts GSSCC provides for the Silver Spring business community.” When Julie isn’t crafting snappy subject lines, she is doting on her son Sebastian, cuddling her cat Tebla, doing puzzles and crosswords, and living life with her husband Brian. |
