Jane Redicker
President & CEO jredicker@gsscc.org As President & CEO of the Chamber, Jane Redicker provides vision and strategic direction for the organization, manages its operations, and serves business member needs, every day. Having overseen GSSCC for more than 16 years since 2005, Jane has successfully led numerous and noteworthy initiatives on behalf of member businesses, including a public safety task force; defending local tax revenues collected from Silver Spring’s businesses from being allocated to other jurisdictions; serving on a county-wide task force to reform fire safety inspection; helping to resolve individual business member challenges with County and State agencies; and working with businesses to access local and state aid programs throughout the devastating Covid-19 pandemic. More broadly and on behalf of the Chamber, Jane has conceived, overseen, and carried out an aggressive, pro-business advocacy program at the local and state levels. Jane is an active member of the Maryland Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (MACCE), the state professional association, serving several terms on the MACCE Board. She was voted Maryland Chamber Executive of the Year by her colleagues in 2013. She also serves as an active member of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee. Before she took the GSSCC helm, Jane served from 1994 to 1998 as the first executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in China in Beijing. Before that, she enjoyed a successful career in public relations and communications management. Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Franklin College (Indiana). She is also a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute for Organizational Management, recognized as the industry’s most respected chamber management higher education program. When Jane is not doing her utmost to help GSSCC business members achieve their full potential, she enjoys cooking, singing with her church choir, spending time with her husband Steve, and supporting her daughter Katherine, a mental health professional and aspiring psychology Ph.D. student in Denver, CO. |
