White Oak
White Oak is a community in eastern Montgomery County, located just north of the Prince George’s County line and adjacent to the Washington, D.C. border. The heart of the area is at the intersection of Columbia Pike (US 29) and New Hampshire Avenue (MD 650). White Oak is connected to surrounding neighborhoods and regional destinations, making it both a convenient and dynamic place to live. The area is anchored by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Federal Research Center. |
Hillandale
Originally named for a parcel of land called “Hills and Dales,” Hillandale grew from farms and large country estate homes at the turn of the 20th century to residential development in the 1930s. The Hillandale Shopping Center is developed in the 1960s and the Capital Beltway is completed with opening ceremonies held in Hillandale. At the turn of the 21st century Hillandale has a new middle school and the Food and Drug Administration New Hampshire Avenue campus. |
