About the Nonprofit Team (NPT)​​

The GSSCC Nonprofit Team (NPT) is a collaborative network for nonprofit organizations in Silver Spring. Through regular meetings and peer-to-peer exchanges, the group provides a platform for nonprofit leaders to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for mutual support. The NPT is dedicated to fostering connections among local nonprofits and strengthening their collective impact on the community.

We believe that nonprofits play a vital role in the social and economic fabric of Silver Spring. Our mission is to bring together nonprofit organizations to identify common needs, share valuable insights, and work together to address the unique challenges they face. By building strong, informed partnerships, we strive to enhance the effectiveness and reach of nonprofits across the region.

Action Youth Media

As a youth education and workforce development non-profit, Action Youth Media focuses on connecting our services and programs to youth that are often overlooked and underserved. Through the parents, teachers and community members we partner with, we know that many of our students are in need of a safe space and mentors who believe in them and can arm them with employable skills for their futures. We offer free digital and media arts courses, paid documentary internships for youth and federally registered National Apprenticeship Program in Media Arts and Creative Technologies.

Oxford House

​The mission of Oxford House, Inc. is to foster the development of Oxford Houses to provide those recovering from substance use disorder (SUD) the opportunity to live in an environment designed to support long-term sustained recovery.
