Networking & Events

Networking is one of the most popular reasons for joining a Chamber of Commerce, and GSSCC provides more than 40 opportunities per year for members to make new connections and build relationships with fellow Chamber members. From monthly gatherings to major annual events, there’s something to fit everyone’s schedule.

GSSCC hosts four major annual events:
  • The Chamber’s annual spring Business Golf Classic brings members together for a relaxing and fun outing. Great promotional opportunities are available through sponsorships for each of these events.
  • The GSSCC Anniversary SchmoozaPalooza is a networking extravaganza that has been called an “after-hours on steroids.” Scheduled annually in March to coincide with the founding of the Chamber, this event includes a mini business-showcase for sponsoring members.
  • The annual GSSCC Awards & Installation Dinner,  scheduled in late June draws not only Chamber business members, but also community leaders and local and regional government officials.
  • For the ultimate in networking, GSSCC’s Discover the Taste of Silver Spring®, held each fall, draws some 300-plus Chamber members, as well as community leaders and government officials for an evening of business networking and culinary delights provided by Chamber member restaurants.
GSSCC also hosts numerous monthly and quarterly events:
  • Monthly Networking Breakfasts bring more than 50 fellow business people together for structured "round-table" or "speed-style" networking and are ideal for members who want to jump-start the work day.
  • Monthly Business-After-Hours networking events, hosted at various member-business locations, provide more relaxed, free-style networking and connecting opportunities. Click here for information about hosting this event.
  • Our GSSCC 101 Breakfast, scheduled quarterly, helps new members, and current members maximize their membership investment through the Chamber’s many programs and services.
  • Our bi-monthly Connect@Lunch is a members-only networking luncheon, with a smaller, more intimate crowd. This event allows members the chance to really share and connet through their business needs.
  • The Young Professional's Network hosts networking workshops tied into a happy hour event. There is also an educational component to these events, which allows the YPN to not only network, but expand their business knowledge through member speakers.
  • Grand Openings and Ribbon Cuttings are celebrations for members that have opened, relocated, or expanded.
