Legislative Priorities For Maryland 2020

Through its legislative advocacy efforts, the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce seeks to foster the growth of existing businesses, encourage new business development, improve regional competitiveness, and highlight the business community’s contributions to the quality of life in Montgomery County and the State of Maryland.

The Chamber believes that our focus for the future must be on these six areas:

  • Employment policies that encourage private sector job growth.
  • Transportation and infrastructure projects that assure economic vitality.
  • A tax structure that stimulates business growth and entrepreneurship.
  • A workforce prepared to meet current and future employer needs.
  • Removing regulatory barriers to business success.

GSSCC’s Government Affairs Committee is currently in the process of developing specific legislative priorities for the upcoming 2020 State Legislative session.  Check back for details.
